      Eats and Treats

You can’t get a real taste of Menorca unless you sample some real
Menorcan products. There are plenty of good restaurants serving
authentic local dishes, and a variety of shops and markets where
you can buy locally made products including wines, cheeses,
pastries, shoes and fashion items. And Menorcan Sandals.

Did you know?
• Held every May, Mahon is host to one Europe’s largest costume
   jewellery fairs.

• Local mushrooms (Setas) are orange and green, they may look
a bit weird but they taste out of this world.

• Mayonnaise celebrated its 250th anniversary in 2006. Legend has
it a French nobleman named it in honour of his lover who came
  from Mahon.
Here are a few things to whet your appetite...

Top Eats: Sample some Ensaimadas (Spiral pastries) Armargas (Almond cakes) and Menorcan Gin. They are all fabulous. Try a waterside restaurant in the Port at Mahon or Es Castell or Ciutadella. Great food and the perfect place to sit and watch the rich sail by.

Top Treats:
If you like Motor Racing you could be in for a treat while you're in Menorca. Formula One teams use the airfield at the Aeroclub to test their cars between Grand Prix Races.

Missing Marmite? Yearning for Yorkshire Tea? Longing for Lea & Perrins? Fear not, you'll find all your fave Brit foods at UK Delights.
They're on the airport road, open 9 to 6 Mon to Sat. Tel: 971354219

Treat your feet to a pair of original Menorcan Sandals made by Riudavets. From their Alaior shop at Placa Nova 4, and quality outlets including Alaeasa at Menorca Airport.
