      Sights & Sounds

Exploring is one of the most exciting aspects of Menorca.
There is something waiting around every corner. Historic Forts
and pretty Churches, Art Galleries, Bronze Age Sites, Fiestas,
Concerts, Windmills, Bodegas, and more beaches than all the other
Balearic Islands put together. All waiting for you to discover.

Did you know?
• A beer drinking, card playing ghost is said to haunt historic
Marlborough Fort at the mouth of Mahon Harbour. High spirits?

• Menorca has the largest concentration of prehistoric sites (over
1000) in the world. Many from the Talaiotic period (2000 – 123 bc)

• On a walk around the pretty inlet of Cala San Estaban, don’t be
surprised if you are accompanied by groups of crowing cockerels.
  They rule the roost there.
Top Tips: There are annual Fiestas or 'Festes' held at most towns and villages throughout the year. They are lively and colourful affairs, centering on maginficent displays of traditional Menorcan horsemanship. Catch one if you can.

Special MP3 players can be used to follow itineraries around Mahon, Ciutadella and sites of cultural importance. Packed with historical facts and interesting info, they can be hired from Tourist Centres or Viaje Magon's Offices for just 10 euros a day.
